This past summer, Thompson Law Office opened its branch office in Chadron, Nebraska, in rural Dawes County. Attorney Jane Long staffs the office, with support from the legal professionals in our West Omaha office. Our firm recognized that, like other rural communities, the population is under-served by legal professionals. Despite being a vibrant community with nearly 6,000 residents, there were only a handful of attorneys left in Chadron.
We are pleased to reverse that trend, and we applaud the Nebraska State Bar Association for taking the initiative to encourage law students to practice in rural communities. Thompson Law Office has a “Litigation Support Specialist” program geared towards preparing recent law grads for the practice of law. We look forward to equipping young attorneys with essential lawyering skills and encouraging them to practice in the firm’s rural offices in the future.
